Worksystems has partnered with ADX to offer low-income young adults the opportunity to participate in an innovative program to learn real-world manufacturing and engineering concepts - all over the course of a weekend. From Saturday, May 31 to Sunday, June 1, eleven (11) youth were given the opportunity to rebuild and electrify "Conscious Commuter" e-bicycles in a hands-on learning environment designed to inspire and create the makers and builders of tomorrow.
"This STEM project is a great example of a creative way to engage and expose young people to careers in manufacturing and engineering," said Worksystems Executive Director, Andrew McGough. "We need more opportunities like this to prepare for the more than 50,000 projected jobs in the manufacturing industry in the coming 10 years."
The most exciting part for the youth...they got to keep the e-bike that they electrified!
