    Like so many, we have experienced waves of emotion following the brutal murder of George Floyd. From despair to rage, the cruel and senseless killing of another African American at the hands of the police and the systemic racism it represents - must stop. As an organization, we will be an active ally in the fight to end racism and will work with the community, our Board, staff and partners to affect meaningful and lasting change.     As part of Worksystems’ response to the COVID-19 Economic Emergency we are supporting resource and service phone lines for the general public and current customers. In partnership with multiple WorkSource and community-based service providers, the COVID Workforce Response Lines will serve as an easily accessible connection to workforce services and related resources while other access points (libraries, WorkSource Centers, etc.) are closed due to social distancing guidelines.     We are excited to be a member of the Digital Divide Work Group to connect Portland during the COVID-19 Crisis. This work group is focused on solving two problems: Many community members have limited or no internet access Frontline organizations need new digital tools to build community The groups single priority is increasing digital inclusion for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, individuals with disabilities, immigrants, women, or individuals experiencing poverty as well as other community members in isolation and at high risk of digital exclusion.     Roland and Jesse from our staff participated in an online Q&A with KGW News where they answered questions from viewers on how to file for unemployment and provided information about workforce training and other support services available to help workers and businesses impacted by COVID-19.
