The successful Community Benefits Agreement program - designed to increase opportunities for minorities and women on large scale public works construction projects - was featured in a recent addition of Street Roots News. Worksystems worked closely with numerous community based organizations, labor groups and pre-apprenticeship programs to develop this model that provides training for historically under-represented populations to prepare them for construction jobs and establishes hiring and contracting goals for public projects. We believe this is a powerful tool to help promote workforce equity and to move more people into living wage, in-demand construction jobs.
