Individual Training Accounts (ITA)

Purpose
A key principle of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 is the empowerment of job seekers to choose training through the use of Individual Training Accounts (ITA) and Eligible Training Providers and Programs.

Policy
Except under the limited circumstances defined is 20 CFR §663.430, WIA Title 1B funded training services provided through a WSI contractor are to be financed via an ITA. Each One Stop site/provider that provides ITAs for customer training must have an established ITA policy and procedure which follows the guidelines set out by Region 2.
