Regional Competiveness Training Fund
Overview
WSI’s Regional Competitiveness Training Fund (RCTF) is a blend of training dollars from
various sources designed to:
- Maximize impact of limited federal & state workforce funds on regional economy
- Align federal and state workforce funds in the region with Workforce Board strategic plan
- Target training resources to meet needs of high growth/high demand industries
- Skill-up incumbent workers
- Train new workers to industry specifications for demand occupations that meet standards for public investment
Rather than fund training projects for individual companies, the RCTF funds clusters of
targeted high growth/high wage industries within our region. By leveraging available funds this way we hope to:
- Enhance business access to training resources
- Enhance access to training resources for a wider cross section of regional talent pool
- Leverage private sector investment through a Mutual Investment Model
- Engage employers in the design and delivery of training responsive to real-time needs
- Develop accountability systems/common performance benchmarks
