Renew NW Incumbent Worker Training Grant - As part of the Renew NW grant, Worksystems, Inc. (WSI) is soliciting proposals to train the workforce of manufacturers that make and sell products or components of products that produce energy from renewable sources. Training will enhance the capabilities of renewable energy industry supply chain manufacturers and may include career path development for current entry level workers.

Foundational Skills: English as a Second Language Instruction Grant - Worksystems, Inc. is soliciting proposals from public and private organizations with experience in coordination and delivery of English as a Second Language instruction. ESL instruction will be delivered in workshop format under the Foundational Skills program located with WorkSource Portland Metro Centers and auxilliary sites.

Employer Workforce Training Funds: For Program Year 2009, Worksystems, Inc. received an allocation of Employer Workforce Training Funds from the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development. The remaining unobligated portion of that allocation, approximately $88,000, will be awarded to businesses in Multnomah and Washington counties through this procurement solicitation.

Note: Healthcare proposals for training services to incumbent workers employed by businesses and organizations located in southwest Washington will be considered for funding under this solicitation by the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council.
