Workforce Investment Board
Worksystems, Inc. is staff to the Local Workforce Investment Board (WIB) for Oregon Region 2. The region consists of the City of Portland, Multnomah and Washington Counties. The WIB has six primary roles:

  • Establish the direction of workforce development in support of the region's vision for economic competitiveness;
  • Create connections between industry, businesses, or organizations that Board Members represent to serve the needs of workers and employers in the region;
  • Help to align and integrate various components of the system to work together more collaboratively;
  • Advocate on behalf of all the system's customers by balancing worker/client interests and business interests;
  • Communicate with, evaluate, and hold accountable the agencies and partners that implement the system's strategy; and
  • Use my influence and authority to break down barriers and create change within the system.
The WIB is composed of representatives from government, business, education, economic development, labor, workforce development and other partners to the workforce system. Commissioners from Multnomah and Washington Counties and the City of Portland hold seats on the Board. The majority of the Board Members represent business.
