Incumbent Worker Training: CLOSED  Worksystems, Inc., on behalf of the Local Workforce Investment Board's Regional Competitiveness Committee, has opened funding for incumbent worker training projects. Approximately $400,000 in funds will be distributed through consortia or industry associations to support training for identified needs. Company feedback at Industry Skill Panels will determine the specific needs per industry. The following target industries are now being funded:

    Summer Youth Connect: Career College Connections RFP Solicitation
    Closes March 12, 2010, 12:00 Noon - CLOSED

    Worksystems, in partnership with the City of Portland Mayor’s Office is seeking proposals from organizations with proven capacity to deliver youth career and college exposure activities and services that are comprehensive and grounded in effective practices that promote success in school and prepare young people for success as post-secondary students and future workers.

    A Bidder’s Conference will be held on Thursday February 18 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am in the Training Room on the first floor of the U.S. Bank Tower, located at 111 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR. Attendance is strongly encouraged, but not required.

    All inquiries related to this RFP are to be submitted electronically. E-mail inquiries should be identified on the e-mail as “SYC C³ RFP” and sent to SYCrfp@worksystems.org.

    .NET/SQL Programmer RFP Solicitation

    Worksystems is seeking a contract .NET/SQL Programmer to be available for planned new
    system development. WSI may, at its discretion, choose more than one contractor to use as
    outlined in this RFP for the stated period. The selected contractor(s) will primarily be working
    on our MIS, www.worksourceportlandmetro.org and www.prosperityplanner.org. These are
    web based .NET applications. WSI has a variety of IT development needs over the course of a
    program year and will work with contractor(s) to develop short-term work plans with project

    Defense Industry Contract through Manufacturing 21 and Organization for Economic Initiatives: closed December 7, 2009

    Worksystems, Inc. (WSI) is soliciting proposals for trainings that will enhance the workforce of companies creating products for the defense logistics supply chain. Trainings must benefit businesses that make and sell a product or component of a product whose ultimate end user is the US Military.

    To maximize the cost effectiveness of the funds for companies in the defense industry supply chain, consortia applications will be awarded additional points in the evaluation process.

    Questions answered at the Pre-RFP conference have been incorporated into the final RFP.

    Regional Business Services Proposals - Closed on July 24, 2009

    Worksystems, Inc. (WSI) is soliciting proposals for a Regional Business Services (RBS) team. RBS will increase the capacity of the WorkSource Portland Metro System to assist business in hiring and training new employees and support job seekers who complete occupational skills training or who would benefit from On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities.

    The RBS team will work collaboratively within the integrated WorkSource Portland Metro System with Worksystems, Oregon Employment Department, Community Colleges and Community Based Organizations to serve both job seekers and businesses.
