Employer Workforce Training Fund - How to Apply

The Employer Workforce Training Fund was established by Governor Kulongoski in 2004. The fund provides training to current private sector workers to support the retention and growth of living wage jobs, a skilled workforce, and competitive business in Multnomah and Washington Counties.

These pages provide an overview of this fund, project requirements, and the application. Please read all three pages to learn about the fund and access the application.

Who can apply:
For-profit or not-for-profit businesses, associations or consortia of businesses located in Multnomah and Washington Counties.

Funding priorities:
The Workforce Response Team established the following funding priorities:
  • Bio Science
  • Food Processing
  • Wholesale Trade
  • Health Care
  • High Technology
  • Manufacturing (including metals, hi-tech, transportation equipment, etc.)
  • Software
Training priorities:
Projects must address one of the following:
  • Training that provides workers with the skills needed to keep their jobs.
  • Training that helps workers move up the career ladder, thereby opening positions for incoming workers.
